[origin: WO2011138007A1] The invention relates to a data carrier, more particularly a valuable document, such as a banknote, identity card and the like, comprising a substrate (20) composed of a polymeric material, which has a motif region (12) having a visual impression that is altered in reflected light and/or transmitted light, wherein the motif region (12) has partial or complete perforations (22) in the substrate which can be registered in tactile fashion, wherein the motif region (12) is designed in the form of a pattern, characters or a coding, and wherein the substrate (20) is covered in each case by a polymeric covering layer (30) on both sides at least in the motif region.
