Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2568067A2] Problem: To prevent interference between warp yarns (4) and yarn feeders (25) of yarn carriers (10, 50, 70; 12, 52) when knitting a multi-layer knitted fabric. Configuration: A multi-layer knitted fabric is knitted, by feeding the warp yarns (4) to a trick gap (3) of a flat knitting machine (2, 48, 68), and feeding an inlay yarn (6, 7) and a knitting yarn (8, 9) from the yarn feeders (25) at the front ends of the yarn carriers (10, 50, 70; 12, 52). The yarn carrier (10, 50, 70; 12, 52) is provided with a guide member (26, 56) that is projected from said yarn carrier toward the trick gap (3), at a position that is closer to a base portion than is the yarn feeder (25), and the guide member (26, 56) guides the warp yarn (4) to the side opposite said yarn carrier with respect to the trick gap (3).
