[origin: EP2568541A1] The connector has an insulating body (12) holding a contact element (51) provided at an ends of cable cores (52). The insulating body is arranged at a metal housing (11) adjacent to an insertion opening. A clamping cage (13) is arranged in the housing adjacent to a cable connecting opening and holds a shielded cable (17) in an inner space. A distance element is supported at the insulating body at a mating side, where the distance element with its cable sided end extends to the clamping cage. A shielding transition unit (14) is in electrical contact with a cable shield (18) and the housing.
