[origin: TW201139093A] The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for assembling veneer strips (2) comprising: a veneer supply plane (E) in which the veneer strips (2) are supplied, an adhesive activation station (3) which activates an adhesive applied to an edge (2a) of the veneer strips (2), and a veneer assembly station (4) in which the veneer strips (2) are assembled at the edges (2a) thereof, wherein the adhesive activation station (3) comprises a stationary hot air source (5) and a hot air path (6) extending from said hot air source (5) and including an outlet member (7), and the outlet member (7) comprises an outlet opening (8) and an expansion chamber (9), wherein hot air flows from the outlet opening (8) and passes by the edges (2a) of the veneer strips (2) in order to activate the adhesive at the edges (2a), and wherein the outlet member (7) is arranged below and/or above the veneer supply plane (E).
