[origin: WO2011144565A1] The invention relates to a feed or a feed additive containing: (i) = 25% by weight polysaccharides or cereals and/or (ii) = 35% by weight total content of proteins and amino acids, characterized in that the feed contains in addition cellobiose, or wherein cellobiose is assigned as further feed component to the feed or the feed additive. In addition, the invention relates to the use of cellobiose as feed additive for increasing feed utilization and/or for reducing the excrement of animals during animal husbandry. In addition the invention relates to an animal husbandry method relating thereto.
