The apparatus has a coating agent storage unit, and a unit for transmitting the coating material from a coating material supply unit designed for the coating surface transmission arrangement. Water contained in the coating material supply unit is set with a viscosity of less than 100s, in particular to contain paint. A recess is formed at the removal area obtained by removing the coating material from the coated surface of the container. Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Beschichten einer Beschichtungsfläche eines vorzugsweise becherförmigen Behälters (60), insbesondere Lebensmittelbehälters, mit einer ein Beschichtungsmittel enthaltenden Vorratseinrichtung (10) und einer zum Übertragen des Beschichtungsmittels von der Vorratseinrichtung (10) auf die Beschichtungsfläche ausgelegten Übertragungsanordnung (30, 40, 50), wobei das in der Vorratseinrichtung enthaltene Beschichtungsmittel eine Viskosität von weniger als 100 s aufweist, insbesondere einen Lack enthält.
