Abstract (en)
The method involves detecting an ion stream for a cylinder, while an internal combustion engine is operated with an air-fuel mixture. Another ion flow is detected for the cylinder, while the internal combustion engine is operated with another air-fuel mixture. The former air-fuel mixture and the latter air-fuel mixture are different to each other. The internal combustion engine comprises multiple cylinders. An independent claim is included for a control apparatus for an internal combustion engine.

Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren für einen Verbrennungsmotor (208) mit mindestens einem Zylinder (501-504). Bei dem Verfahren wird ein erster Ionenstrom (301-303) für den Zylinder (501-504) erfasst, während der Verbrennungsmotor (208) mit einem ersten Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch betrieben wird, und ein zweiter Ionenstrom (301-303) für den Zylinder (501-504) erfasst, während der Verbrennungsmotor (208) mit einem zweiten Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch betrieben wird. Das erste Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch und das zweite Luft-Kraftstoffgemisch sind unterschiedlich. Aus dem ersten und zweiten Ionenstrom (301-303) des Zylinders (501-504) wird eine Ionenstromdifferenz für den Zylinder (501-504) bestimmt.
