[origin: CA2799421A1] A drive device for a device for treating or processing food has a lid that can be attached to a base, an actuating lever articulated on the lid and a force transfer mechanism driven by the actuating lever to rotate a functional tool disposed in the base below the lid. Movement of the actuating lever drives the force transfer mechanism, and the lever is located such that the area through which the actuating lever passes during actuation is located laterally next to a plane that is perpendicular to axis of rotation of the actuating lever and passes through the axis of rotation of the functional tool.
