[origin: WO2011151270A1] Environmental safety device for a retaining tank or pit for the containment of hazardous products such as flammable and/or toxic products, notable in that it consists of at least one fluid-tight tank (1) comprising at least one substantially vertical dividing wall (2) delimiting two chambers (3, 7), a first chamber known as a feed chamber (3) equipped with at least one opening (4) able to receive a feed pipe (5) supplying a mixture of water/hazardous products, said feed pipe (5) being connected to at least one hazardous-product retaining tank or pit or the like, and a second chamber known as a discharge chamber (7) equipped with at least one opening (8) able to receive a discharge pipe (9) connected to the waste water network or to a spreading drain or the like, said dividing wall (2) being equipped with at least one pipe (10) that places the feed chamber (3) in communication with the discharge chamber (7) and is able to accept at least one removable filter cartridge (11) that allows the water to pass into the discharge chamber (7) and holds back the hazardous products, said filter cartridge (11) forming a plug when saturated.
