Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2578129A2] The unit (10) has a cable drum (12) for a connection cable of a vacuum cleaner, and a driving apparatus for rotating the cable drum. A brake device inhibits or releases rotatability of the cable drum. A brake lever (30) deactivates the brake device. The brake device comprises a pivotable connection plate (32) and a friction wheel that is rotatable with the cable drum, where the connection plate blocks the friction wheel in an orientation. The connection plate has a contact surface for contacting the friction wheel, where the driving apparatus is designed as a roll spring.
