[origin: WO2011154252A1] The invention relates to a condensation dryer 1 having a drying chamber 3 for articles which are to be dried, having a process-air channel 2, in which are located a heating means 4 for heating the process air, a heat exchanger 5, 39 for cooling the process air, following passage through the drying chamber 3, and a fan 6 for delivering the process air, having a cleaning device 7, which operates with an aqueous liquid 26 and generates at least one liquid jet, and having a control device 8, wherein the cleaning device 7, during operation thereof, changes the direction and/or intensity of the at least one liquid jet. The cleaning device 7 has an arrangement which is in a fixed location relative to the heat exchanger 5, 39 and has at least one nozzle 13 for generating the at least one liquid jet, and the cleaning device 7 also has at least one movable body 10, which makes it possible to change the direction and/or intensity of the at least one liquid jet. The invention also relates to a preferred method for operating this condensation dryer.
