[origin: DE102010049645A1] The method involves applying lubricant on a rolling bar (2) arranged in a workpiece (1) e.g. metallic elongated hollow body, before a hot-rolling process. The lubricant is brought into solid form at the rolling bar. The lubricant is pressed at the rolling bar and bonded. Layer thickness of the lubricant is controlled during application of the lubricant, where lubrication layers comprise different material characteristics. The lubricant is provided with a functional agent such as adhesive agent, bonding agent, releasing agent and/or insulation agent i.e. thermal insulation agent. An independent claim is also included for a hot rolling mill for hot-rolling of a metallic elongated hollow body.
