[origin: WO2011161074A2] A mixing apparatus (1) for continuously producing a fibre-matrix mixture (2) has two mixing units (4, 5) arranged so as to lie opposite one another on a base frame (3). Each of the mixing units (4, 5) has at least two rotatable deflecting rollers (17 to 19, 20 to 22) around which belts (23, 24) are guided. The belts (23, 24) delimit a mixing clearance (6) for the fibre-matrix mixture (2). At least one supporting element (49, 50) for supporting the respective belt (23, 24) along the mixing clearance (6) is arranged between the deflecting rollers (17, 18, 20, 21). A sufficiently high pressure for blending and impregnating the constituents of the fibre-matrix mixture (2) is thereby generated in the mixing clearance (6). To strip off the fibre-matrix mixture (2) from the belts (23, 24), provision is made of a discharge unit (11), which has two discharge elements (59, 60) that are associated with the belts (23, 24) and have associated stripping-off edges. The mixing apparatus (1) can produce a mixture strand (13) which can be further processed directly as an SMC semifinished product.
