[origin: WO2011161233A1] The invention relates to a removable storage device (10) to be housed in a cavity of packaging (50) for transporting and/or storing radioactive materials, including a plurality of mutually movable substructures (12) that are arranged about a longitudinal axis (15) of the device and define a plurality of adjacent recesses (14) for said radioactive materials, as well as means (30, 32, 34, 44) for deploying said substructures (12) including actuation means (32, 34) the shapes of which match those of at least one of said substructures (12) of the device and thereby engage via a bearing surface (30, 42) having, along any plane through which said axis (15) passes, a cross-sectional shape of a segment which is inclined relative to said axis (15), such that a movement of said actuation means (32, 34) in a first direction (33, 35) parallel to said axis (15) results in a radial movement of said substructure (12) toward the outside relative to said axis (15).
