Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2587166A2] The apparatus i.e. cook field (11), has a cook field plate (13) whose lower part (14) is provided with a heating device (18) i.e. induction heating device, for heating a cooking vessel that is provided on the cook field plate. An optical display device (20) is provided close to the heating device for displaying temperature under the cook field plate. The display device is fixed at a rear part of the cook field plate and made of thermochromic ink (24) and/or thermochromic material, which are not directly or inseparably attached to the cook field plate. The induction heating device is provided with an overlying insulator disk that is made of mica or ceramic material. The cook field plate is made of transparent glass ceramic. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying optical temperature on a cooking apparatus.
