Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012004192A1] The invention relates to a method for filling the mold cavity (12) of a pressure die casting device (10) with liquid casting material (22), wherein the pressure die casting device comprises an injection piston (18) displaceable in a casting chamber (16), wherein the liquid casting material (22) is filled into the casting chamber (16) through a filling hole (20) and is pressed into the mold cavity (12) by means of the injection piston (18). In order to reduce the risk of air and other gas inclusions in the liquid casting material (22) when being pressed into the mold cavity (12), according to the invention compressed air is applied to the casting material (22) in the casting chamber (16). The invention further relates to a valve arrangement (26) and to a pressure die casting device (10) for carrying out the method.
