[origin: EP2589363A1] The bed has a bed frame which has two side parts at the lateral sides, a top end (21) and a foot end (23), where a mattress support device is provided with an adjustable backrest (32), a seat cushion (34,36) and an adjustable leg section (38). A foot end sided part (30b) and a top end sided part of the mattress support device are mechanically coupled by a partial connecting element. The connecting element has a top end sided connecting element part and a foot end sided another connecting element part.
