[origin: EP2589740A1] In a device for fastening glass containing at least one retaining element (20) being fastened to a frame element (4) of a sash (1) of a window or door or movable facade structure and having in an area of a glazing (5) a shape of L letter and a gripping surface (22) being in contact with one of main surfaces (6) of the glazing (5) preventing a movement of the glazing (5) in relation or regard to the frame element (4) of the sash (1) of the window or door or movable facade structure, to at least one retaining element (20) by use of a connecting element (40) is fastened a holding down element (30) which has a holding down surface (32) located opposite the gripping surface (22) of the retaining element (20). The retaining element (20) with the holding down element (30) creates a clamp that grips or encloses the glazing (5) from both sides, while the connecting element (40) induces a pressure force of the gripping surface (22) of the retaining element (20) on the glazing (5) in the place of contact with one of the main surfaces (6) of the glazing (5) and a pressure force of holding down surface (32) of holding down element (30) on the glazing (5) in the place of contact with a remaining main surface (7) of the glazing (5). Friction forces induced by pressure forces of the retaining element (20) and the holding down element (30) prevent the movement of the glazing (5) in relation or regard to the frame element (4) of the sash (1) of the window or door or movable facade structure.
