[origin: US2012017592A1] A steam turbine having at least a HP blade cascade, an IP blade cascade and a plurality of dummy members that are attached to a common rotor shaft, is provided with, but not limited to, a detection unit that detects a steam flow into an IP chamber, a pressure reducing unit that reduces a pressure difference between both sides of a target dummy member of said plurality of the dummy members when the steam flow into the IP chamber stops, the target dummy member having one side communicating with a part of the IP chamber, and a control unit that controls the pressure reducing unit based on a detection result obtained by the detection unit.
