[origin: EP2589909A2] The device has an open hollow body (3) including an elongated cavity for accommodating elongated materials. A radiant heater (9) i.e. infrared radiation heater, extends in a longitudinal direction of the cavity for warming or drying the materials. The heater extends over a front partial section (7) or different partial sections of the cavity. A gaseous medium feeding and discharging device (14) supplies gaseous medium e.g. air or gas, to the partial section of the cavity in which the heater is arranged. The medium is discharged from the partial section in which the heater is not arranged. The hollow body is formed as a tubular body i.e. metal body e.g. aluminum body, which forms a modular unit connected with another modular unit.
