[origin: EP2594891A2] An estimated trajectory of the ballistic missile is determined, and an interceptor missile (2) is made to fly in the estimated trajectory, such that the ballistic missile is destroyed in flight through the explosive charge (22). The interceptor missile flies in the flight direction of ballistic missile, in front of the ballistic missile, before the ignition of explosive charge. The ignition of explosive charge is completed, in response to an overtaking of the ballistic missile on the interceptor missile. An independent claim is included for a missile trapping system.
