In order to achieve high efficiency, it is proposed that the method have the following steps: a transmission of at least one nominal value (12) of a parameter (14) of the compressor (10), b determination of at least two actuation values (16, 18, 20, 90) of at least two actuating elements (22, 24, 26, 94) of the compressor (10) on the basis of the nominal value (12), c determination of a model-based theoretical state of the compressor (10) on the basis of the actuation values (16, 18, 20, 90), d iterative correction of at least one of the actuation values (16, 18, 20, 90) depending on the theoretical state, e control of at least one of the actuation elements (22, 24, 26, 94) on the basis of an actuation value (16, 18, 20, 90).
