Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2012016583A1] The invention relates to an apparatus (1) which is intended for winding up web-like materials (29) into completed rolls (48) and has two pairs (2, 3) of carrying rollers (4; 5, 6; 7), which can be moved along a framework (61). It is advantageous here if a winding reel (43), to which the web-like material (29) is applied, is arranged on the one pair (2) of carrying rollers (4, 5), while the other pair (3) of carrying rollers (6, 7) is being moved to a supply station (36) for winding reels, where it is fitted with an empty winding reel (50). The advantage with this apparatus is that it is possible to provide a method with which a winding process need not be stopped when a finished roll has to be replaced by an empty winding reel. This is because an empty winding reel is supplied while, on another winding reel, the web-like material is being wound into a finished roll. The web-like material here is fed at constant or reduced speed to the corresponding winding reel, for which reason the winding process also has a high throughput, since it need not be interrupted whenever a new winding reel has to be supplied. It is thus possible to wind more web-like material into rolls than is the case using conventional winding machines.
