[origin: WO2012016808A1] The invention relates to a drying section (1) of a machine for producing and/or converting a web of paper, paperboard, tissue or some other fibrous material (11), having a number of drying groups (3, 4, 5), which comprise drying cylinders (8, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3) and deflecting rollers (6), wherein the web of fibrous material (11) lying on a drying screen (9.1, 9.2, 9.3) is guided in a meandering form alternately around the drying cylinders (8, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3) and around the deflecting rollers (6) and touches the lateral surface of the drying cylinders (8, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3). The drying section according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that in at least one drying group (3, 4, 5) at least one drying cylinder (8, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3) is free from doctor blades (10.1, 10.3) of the width of the machine.
