[origin: EP2602198A1] The device has positioning units (7) for positioning containers (3) in lengthened label cases (2). Electrical controllable removal units (8) are provided for passing the label cases to containers by opening-side of withdrawal containers from spreading units. A control device (9) adjusts different spreading velocities for two movement phases of the spreading segments and/or adjusts different lifting speed for two movement phases of the withdrawal containers. Electrical controllable spreading units (6) are provided with spreading segments. An independent claim is also included for a method for labeling containers with resilient label cases.
