[origin: EP2602217A2] The sheet feeder (10) has first suction wheel (1) having axis of rotation that is located above stack (100). The second suction wheel (2) is located downstream of first suction wheel in sheet travel direction (T), which is located above or below sheet travel plane (E). A separation device (3) is located near rear edge (100.1) of stack to lift uppermost sheet (1000) off the stack. The axes of rotation of suction wheels are located at different distances (A,B) from rear edge and front edge (100.2) of stack respectively, where first distance is greater than or equal to second distance.
