[origin: EP2602218A2] The wheel has a suction wheel body (20) rotatable about a rotation axis and comprising a circumferential surface (28) that is provided with a set of suction openings formed for attracting sheets by suction and for transporting the sheets. The suction wheel body is divided into multiple segments, where each segment comprises an attraction area (24) for attracting the sheets by suction, a retaining area (25) for retaining and conveying the sheets, and a release area (26) for releasing the sheet. The attraction area, the retaining area and the release area are formed different from each other. An independent claim is also included for a sheet feeder for a machine.
