[origin: EP2602393A2] The sealing band (1) has an elongated foam body and opposite broad sides (3,4) that is placed on fusion faces and opposite narrow sides (5,6) arranged between the broad sides. A cross-section profiling (7) is provided on one of the broad sides. An elevated area (8) and a deep area (9) are arranged on two sides of a central plane of the sealing band such that the foam material produces a stronger sealing in the elevated area than in the deep area. The sealing band is structured in the elevated area or in the deep area, when an elevation or a depth is formed in the cross section.
