Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2603018A1] The apparatus (10) has two analysis facilities (32-38) for obtaining speech activity data based on an audio signal of sound (12). A fusion facility (48) receives the data from the analysis facilities and identifies whether the wear is currently speaking or not, based on the data. The analysis facilities determine values for a soft decision or a probability to identify whether the wearer is speaking or not. The fusion facility weighs the data using trained or untrained weighting factors based on the analysis facilities from which the data originate, and logically combines the weighted data. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hearing apparatus.
