Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2604438A2] The method involves separating folded sheets (7-9) one after another from a stack of a magazine using grippers. The separated sheets are laid on a transport device i.e. endlessly circulating gathering chain (10). Each gripper is opened and closed such that a stitching device i.e. stitching station (5), is actuated under remote control using actuating signals from a control device. The actuating signals are generated from data relating to dimensions and number of pages of the sheets. An item of data relating to the sheets is entered into the control device before actuating the gripper. The item of data is selected from a group consisting of sheet widths, spine length, grammage and number of pages.
