[origin: EP2604566A1] The apparatus has a safety circuit (16) with an interruption apparatus (104) for interrupting a drive depending on a conduction state of the safety circuit. Another safety circuit (14) comprises two sensors (10, 11) switched between two switching states depending on a state to be detected by the sensors. A switching unit is switched between the switching states by connection to the safety device to effect one of the closed and open conduction states of the safety circuit. A transmission device of the switching unit transmits a data signal or monitoring signal to a monitoring unit (100). The sensors are inductive or capacitive sensor.
