According to the invention, the hand-operated machine tool device has at least one mounting (18a-18f) which supports at least one operating face (20a-20f) of the operating element (14a-14f) such that it can pivot about at least one axis (22a-22f) aligned at least substantially parallel to the main extension direction (16a-16f).
