[origin: WO2012024709A1] The invention relates to flame-retardant, expandable polymers that contain at least one flameproofing agent and that contain one or more solids, which are composed of carbon atoms at more than 70 wt % and which in particular exist in the form of athermanous particles. According to the invention, said solid(s) has/have a sulfur content of 0.2 to 30 wt %, preferably 0.3 to 15 wt %, preferably 0.6 to 10 wt %, especially preferably 1.2 to 7 wt%, in the form of sulfur and/or sulfur compounds.
