[origin: EP2423887A1] The device (1') has a processor device (2') including a transmission unit (2b) for sending, receiving and interpreting data over an interface device (4) according to different communication protocols. The unit enables storage of operation parameter values and/or firmware for electronic control devices in electronic storage devices (3'). The unit sends programming commands and the data corresponding to the values and/or firmware to the control devices over a communication bus, where the commands and data are adapted to implement the values and/or firmware in the control devices. An independent claim is also included for a method for changing operation parameter values and/or firmware of electronic control devices of a motor vehicle.
