Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2615224A2] A scaffold 1 has an upright 3 and a transverse tube 5 connected to it, as well as a handrail tube 7, which with one end 9 is connected to the transverse tube. The cross-section of the transverse tube is circular with an outer diameter D1 and a flattened portion 10, which is present at a distance d1 from the outer side of an opposite wall portion 13. The handrail tube is provided with a C-shaped recess 15 with an inner diameter D2 and a boundary wall 17 which extends over an angle 19 greater than 180 degrees, and of which the ends 21, 23 are at a distance d2 from each other. Because D2 is greater than or equal to D1 and d2 is greater than or equal to d1, and is smaller than D1, the end of the handrail tube with the handrail tube being in an oblique position can be moved over the transverse tube and then to be rotated to a horizontal position, in which position the handrail tube is interlocked with the transverse tube.
