A method for manufacturing a frame profile for a fire resistant door, said m ethod comprising: (a) Providing a solid beam; (b) Providing at least one longitudinal groove in a side of said solid beam; (c) Introducing an intumescent material in said groove, characterized in that said intumescent material is introduced in said groove in a liquid state and is subsequently cured.
