Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012034740A1] A hydraulic brake system and a method for operating a hydraulic brake system which has at least one first brake circuit (2a, 2b), which is hydraulically connected to a master brake cylinder (3), and at least one second brake circuit (4) which is not hydraulically connected to the master brake cylinder (3). The hydraulic brake system also has a boosting unit (5) for actuating the master brake cylinder (3), said boosting unit being hydraulically connected to the at least one second brake circuit (4). Furthermore, the at least one second brake circuit (4) preferably has a pressure source (6). A pressure in the at least one first brake circuit (2a, 2b) is adjusted by means of the pressure source (6) and/or by means of the driver via the boosting unit (5), and a pressure in the second brake circuit (4) is adjusted by means of the pressure source (6).
