[origin: EP2617933A1] The door has a door frame (3) for defining a door plane (B), and a door leaf (2) pivotably supported around a pivot axis (A) relative to the door frame, where the axis is arranged in the door plane. A safety element (8) locks the door leaf in the frame during fire. The safety element is designed and arranged such that the door leaf is locked at a folding lug (3.2) of the frame by the safety element based on movement of the door leaf with respect to the frame in a direction perpendicular to the door plane. The safety element has a metal profile (8.1) made from steel or stainless steel. An independent claim is also included for a retrofit kit for a fire door.
