[origin: EP2618064A1] The method involves measuring repeatedly the gas concentration in the cooking appliance and comparing each of two temporally successive measurement values. An extreme value (Me) of the gas concentration is detected as a shut-off condition. The measurement process is continued for a time period after detecting the extreme value.
