Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Ermitteln von Wartungs- oder Reparaturbedarf bei Maschinen (7) mit einem Steuerungsrechner (8), wobei während des Betriebs der Maschine (8) Betriebsdaten erfasst und in einer Datei auf dem Steuerungsrechner (8) abgelegt werden. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass die Regeln, nach denen die Betriebsdaten in der Datei abgespeichert werden, vom Zustand der Maschine (7) abhängig sind.
