[origin: WO2012038027A1] The present invention relates to a strapping device (1) for strapping flat objects stacked into packets for a packaging machine, including strapping means for attaching together the flat objects of each packet, a first transport means for moving each packet from the inlet of the strapping device (1) to the strapping means, as well as second transport means (70) for moving each strapped packet from the strapping means to the outlet of the strapping device (1). The invention is characterized in that the strapping means are grouped together within a self-contained unit (10) which is separate from both the first transport means and the second transport means (70), and which is mounted so that it can be extracted from the strapping device (1) assembly.
