Abstract (en)
A cleaning method for a laundry washing machine (1) is provided, wherein the washing machine (1) comprises a washing tub (3) containing a rotatable drum (4), a water inlet circuit (15) for supplying a washing liquid into said tub (3), a water outlet circuit (17) for draining washing liquid from said tub (3); the method comprises the steps of: supplying into the tub (3) a solution of water and water soluble antimicrobial polymer compound, adapted to stick to a body if a solution containing water and the antimicrobial polymer compound contacts the body; performing one or more rotations of the drum (4) and draining from the tub (3), via the water outlet circuit (17), the solution formed by water and antimicrobial polymer compound, in such a way that the solution contacts the tub (3), the drum (4) and the water outlet circuit (17), and at least part of the antimicrobial polymer compound sticks to one or more parts thereof so as to create an antibacterial layer on such one or more parts.
