[origin: WO2012041738A1] The invention relates to a device (1) for producing sacks from tube pieces, comprising: a transport device (45) by means of which the tube pieces can be transported in a transport direction (x) transverse to the direction of extent (z) of the tube pieces, to processing stations (8, 9, 10, 11); a base opening station (8) by means of which open end segments can be generated by folding over regions of at least one wall of the tube piece about folded base edges at at least one end of the tube piece; a closing station by means of which the open base rectangles can be closed to form bases by folding over parts of the walls and/or tabs about further folded edges of the open base rectangles; an embossing device (26, 26') by means of which at least one part of the base folding edge and/or the further folded edges can be embossed into the tube pieces and which comprises an embossing element (28) and an associated counter element (29); and a folding device by means of which areas of both walls can be folded over about the folded base edges by greater than 90 degrees, in order to be able to bring the embossing element (28) and the associated counter element (29) into contact with the same wall of the tube piece.
