[origin: EP2623904A2] The refrigerator and/or freezer has a cooled interior (20), and a closing element, where a compartment (40) is present in the interior. An evaporator is in communication with the compartment such that air cooled by the evaporator flows to the compartment. A regulation unit regulates amount of air and/or temperature. The regulation unit is operable such that the compartment is present at a temperature in the range of less than 14 degrees Celsius in one operating mode, and is present in the range of 14 degrees Celsius i.e. preferably in the range of 14 and 16 degrees Celsius in another mode. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a refrigerator and/or freezer.
