[origin: EP2624228A2] The fire detector (1) has a fire sensor device (3) for detecting fire and outputting a fire signal, which comprises environmental sensor devices (7,8) for detecting objects in the environment of the fire detector and for outputting an environmental signal. A control device (4) sets the normal state and an alarm state of the fire detector on the basis of the fire signal. The fire detector is designed in the form of man-machine interface, and the control device is designed to check whether the environmental signal is deemed to be a user input. An independent claim is included for method for controlling fire detector.
