[origin: EP2624229A1] The automatic fire detector (1) has a housing (10) with a measuring chamber (11) for detection of smoke particles, and a sensor system for detecting a measurement variable for evaluating the operational capability of the automatic fire detector. An evaluation device is provided for evaluating the operational capability of the automatic fire detector on the basis of the measurement variable. The sensor system comprises a flow sensor for detecting the flow as the measurement variable for evaluating the operational capability of the automatic fire detector.
