Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2012048678A2] The invention relates to an applicator (10) for a flowable application medium, in particular for a nail polish. The applicator comprises a reservoir (12) for the application medium, which reservoir has at the front a tip part (14) having a central passage hole (16) for an application element (18) and at the rear an operating device for a piston rod (20), at the front end of which the application element (18) is provided and which is intended to move the application element (18) out of the tip part (14) into a discharging position for the application medium, to temporarily fix the application element (18) in the discharging position, and to move the application element (18) back into the tip part (14) by means of a spring element (48). A closing cap (38) is used to close the tip part (14) in a sealing manner. The piston rod (20) has a flange (26) in a middle section. A sealing element (30) seals off the piston rod (20) along the circumference of the piston rod.
