[origin: WO2012045439A2] A housing (1) for accommodating at least one flat electrochemical cell (2), which has a seal seam (3) extending at least regionally along the edge of said cell, comprises two housing side walls (4) which are arranged substantially parallel to one another and which are provided, in the mutually opposite inner surfaces thereof, with a pair of incisions (5) situated opposite one another for each cell (2) that is to be accommodated, said incisions being designed to accommodate the at least one seal seam (3) of the particular cell (2). The housing (1) here is preferably formed of a foam material.
