[origin: EP2626465A1] The device has a stock rail (11) and a tongue rail (12) guided into each other. A strip-like wall (14) is fastened at a base plate (13), which is extended into a region of the device below groove rail elements of a side of a lane. The wall is arranged parallel and adjacent to a side of the stock rail or the tongue rail. A blank holder works in a vertical direction for one of the rail elements. The wall is detachably connected with the base plate by a fastening part. A box (17) is provided with a removable lid, in which the wall is moved transverse to a radial longitudinal direction. The strip-like wall is formed as an angle structure. An independent claim is also included for a method for maintaining a rail extension device.
