[origin: EP2233824A1] A low-voltage LED lighting system and method for installation thereof in which the system includes: (a) at least one LED lighting fixture (20) each having one or more LEDs; (b) at least one remotely-located power driver (12); and (c) interconnections between the at least one LED fixture (20) and the at least one driver (12) using communication network cabling (62) and standard 8P8C network connectors (18). Preferred lighting fixtures (20) are recessed lighting fixtures adapted for ceiling mounting.
